The human eye naturally looks for patterns. It helps us see and understand the scene in context. Nature has some of the most phenomenal patterns...a leopard's spots, tiger's stripes, a snowflake and the veins of a leaf.

When I saw this plant, I noticed patterns everywhere...the leaves of course but also the detailed patterns in the dirt and the small fern to the lower right of the picture. Also the specks of dirt on the far right leaf. The next time you are out in your yard or going for a walk, take the time to watch for nature's patterns...they are everywhere.
