With the backdrop of the dark sky and the light colored wheat field...this was a perfect candidate for black and white.

Not far from where I live, nestled in the corner of a secluded field is this house. Or at least I think it is a house. At one time it may have been an old schoolhouse. There must be a lane back to it somewhere because there is still activity around it. When I am traveling, I often see homes such as this and wonder what the lives of these folks are like. Do they have any income...how do they make their living? No farm implements around so agriculture is not their way of life. The house has been taken care of, new paint, good roof....Are they retired, raising children, perhaps homeschooling or work at a nine to five in town and spend a good chunk of their day just driving to and from work?

Curiosity, I guess can border on nosiness! Maybe I should just keep driving and not stop to think of these things about other peoples business but the what ifs spark my creativity or curiosity...that is what keeps me aware and interested in life with all of its' diversity. It is a wondrous world we live in.

I would guess they value their privacy and more and more each day...it takes a location such as this to hold onto the few remnants of privacy we have left. I didn't tarry long here...to do so would have crossed the line of invasion. So I left them to their solitude...I must admit a pang of envy as I drove off.
