I visited an antique car show last summer.

Among the Cadillacs and Roles Royces, tucked away in one corner of the park all by itself was this beauty. It was as if it wasn't good enough to make it with the "big boys". On the contrary, when I saw this little spitfire, it reminded me of Spiderman or Super Man...ordinary and unpretentious until an emergency arose and then it's true worth would shine forth.

When I saw this car...to me...it screemed "SuperHero".

I can totally see the superhero in that car!

Also, I really like the new profile picture!

Thanks Shabbygirl,
That is why I did the "cartoon" type image...it just seemed to fit.

Thanks also for the comment on the profile pic...I try to change it up every once on a while.

Haha! That makes me think of Herbie or something. :) Fun post, Dan!

Dani,
Is Herbie still making the rounds at the movies nowadays?

Dan,
It reminds me of one, too! Maybe that's why I liked it so much. :^)
I have a great photo of a psychedelic VW I'll post some time.
I didn't actually ever own one. My family had a VW bug when I was about four years old. (Painted a pale blue, I think...) I loved to ride in the little compartment in the back. I thought it was made just especially for me. (It was, actually.) :^) ;^) ;^)
I really should have owned a hippie van when I was a teenager. I wanted a red sports car. But Dad thought I should have something safer. He picked out a Plymouth Satellite Sebring for me and then told me to go get a loan and pay for it. :^) Not sure of the year...(72, 73???) Anyway, it was metallic gold and had a metallic gold tapestry interior. At first, I was shocked that he just went and did that. But I grew to love it. Wish I still had it. :^) ;^) :^)

Cynthia,
I saw the VW Bus on your blog and fell in love with it! I hitched in Europe for about 6 months in 1970...while in London I saw "Hair" and when I saw the van..it brought back those times again!
