Another visit to Penny Lane. You can see the yellow chair to the right that was in an earlier post.

A great place to spend a rainy afternoon. A day that might have been wasted on complaints and boredom. Time really does pass quickly in a place like this. So many thoughts that stirs the mind. Books to browse, conversations to overhear and also participate in, the aroma of a freshly drawn espresso waiting to be slowly sipped. Just outside the windows by the yellow chair is a whole world passing by but in here...off the sidewalk...my time is my own.

Thanks Bobbi and from your writings, I would imagine you have spent your share of time in coffee houses!

You're right, coffee shops and rainy days just go together!
The thing about your pictures, Dan, is that they all pull you in to a story not written yet. Love it!

Would love to be sitting in one of those chairs, reading a good book with a cup of coffee in front of me!

Thanks Shabbygirl,
By the way I love the video your husband created of the clouds. Anyone reading this post might want to go to your blog to see the video.

I can even smell the books. The mustiness of an old library. Mmmm! I think I'll take my notepad to the local cafe on the next rainy day and just write.

(P.S. Thanks for your message, Dan. I'm really enjoying writing at PPP. Love your blog!)

Wow! That chair really DOES look bright in that room. What a nice cubby-like getaway. :)

Dani...

That chair lured me to it as soon as I saw it!

Oh, how I'd LOVE to lock myself away in that room for a few days! What a lovely place to go to escape the world.
I love this photo, Dan. Beautiful!

To spend a rainy afternoon or morning in a coffee house, surrounded by books, conversation and coffee. My kind of heaven. I love the blend of grayscale and colour. Just enough to highlight the right elements in the photo. Do you use PhotoShop? An awesome yet complicated program. You really set the mood with your narrative.

Thanks for stopping by my bloggy world. Next time coffee's on me!

Pura...I do use Photoshop...right on both counts...difficult to use but it is the gold standard for photo post processing. Once you get the concept of "layers" down...it is much easier to use but that concept is a difficult one to master.

By the way..I will take a tipple espresso...thank you. My son used to work at Starbucks and we were literally talking about this just a few minutes ago! I love Starbucks and anything they make...but there is just something more intimate about a "homegrown" coffeehouse. They do their best to make you feel at home...no rush to leave or beat the crowd.
