We all interact in this cyberworld from all corners of the globe as if we were sitting next to each other. To someone from the coast...summer may be the magnified sun as it sets through the humidity of the day...bathing the ocean in a warm orange color. To a desert dweller, summer may be late afternoon sand storm rolling through bathing all it touches in a the taupe of diffused sun. Summer in the mountains may produce that flash flood as the bloated clouds finally break loose and flow down the mountainsides.
But for me, In the Midwest, this is summer. A bright, hot sun, growing the corn and casting no shadows in the midday. Humidity, warm breeze, honeysuckle and the smell of fresh cut clover hay...that is summer in the Midwest.
Tomorrow, I am posting an image from inside the small outbuilding to the right of the picture.

Nice! The grass is so green and lush. Can't wait to see more of the building.
Your photo and words make me feel like I'm standing next to you admiring the Midwest landscape. Right now here in NY, it's cold and rainy. Looking forward to those warm summer breezes soon.
Beautiful.
I love summer. It's probably my favorite time of year, despite the insane humidity and blood-sucking mosquitoes that are prevalent here in the south. There's something about the warmth of the sun that energizes me and makes me happy. :)
Dan, I really do enjoy visiting with you each day and reading your thoughts...seeing the world through your eyes...learning, adventuring, appreciating...
Thank you, brother :)
Another great photo! Love the colors and feel of it. There is a comfort in it, an easiness, maybe because I imagined a slight breeze along with the heat as those gray skies try to work up a raindrop or two.
Bobbi,
I will post two pictures tomorrow of the inside. If you look at today's photo you will see an old blind hanging torn in the window...you will see it tomorrow as well.
Dan
Setptembermom...I am glad you can step into the photo..that is my hope for most of my shots. Just remember...This September when I am wishing the heat and humidity of summer would pass...in New York...you will already be feeling the cooler breezes of Autumn blowing in.
Dan
Alabama Heather...
Summer and Spring are my favorites as well. There is something about taking a deep breath outside in the summertime that lifts the spirits.
By the way, I enjoyed your post yesterday about you and your friend!
Dan
Vermont Heather....
That is the great thing about blogging...we can all enjoy each others thoughts and interpretations...and also learn things from time to time. I have....Vermont maple syrup for example!

Shabbygirl...
You must have been there! You described it perfectly.
Dan
I like how you pointed out the different perspectives of people throughout. You're in the midwest? Colorado or what?
Dani,
Southern Indiana...if you look at a map...I am in the very southwest corner of the state...Evansville.

...i hear the children laughing...i see hands held high above the tide of green....
Muse...funny...I heard those same children. Children who are now elderly if not already passed on. But they have achieved immortality here.

Evocative photo, Dan; comimg from a country of wide grasslands and savannah -- and some little farms like that -- I can empathise. But hang on, this pic could also remind me of the peaceful spaces of Eastern Germany: Thuringia & Saxony! Quote; " The world is so full of a number of things, I think we should all be as happy as kings" -- R L Stevenson.
Ian...
So true...each country has it's own particular beauty...I wish I could visit all of them!
