Barns don't have to be big!

My college roommate and best friend raises and races pigeons as a hobby. I was visiting him a few weeks ago and noticed his "pigeon coup". It occurred to me that I am drawn towards old building and barns but this "barn" was as important to him as the sprawling dairy barns are to the cattlemen of Wisconsin. The setting sun along with the simplicity of the solitary small barn found me grabbing my camera to capture the moment.

Elaborate or simple...barns are designed with the needs of the builder in mind.

Thanks Heather....here is hoping you will see some beautiful sunsets in Yellowstone...how much better would this photo have been if there was a majestic mountain range in the background!

I love this! The pigeon coup could be easily transformed into a chicken coup. I really want a chicken coup!

Bobbi...yep that's right. I am sure there are more chicken coups than pigeon coups!

The sky color took my breath away. The small barn in the foreground grows more prominent with such a frame of that beautiful sky. Wonderful photo!

I took this picture the same night that I took the picture of the field with the water reflection posted a couple of weeks ago. A storm had passed the sunset with the passing of the storm was beautiful.

That's quite the fancy little pigeon house he's got there, Dan :)

Yes it is...I wonder how he would feel knowing we are calling it a "pigeon house"! He is really into the whole pigeon thingy!
