I've often thought it would be rewarding to own a small restaurant and cater to the local clientele of a small town.

I have been to this small restaurant several times even though it is not in my home town. The nice thing about it is that the atmosphere is "NO" atmosphere! This is the real thing...no conjured up ambiance or waiters singing happy birthday at your table...just good food..no rush and they treat you the same whether you order dinner or an ice cold thick frosted mug of their foamy house special...root beer.

The restaurant is old enough to have probably gotten it's name from the days when folks would come in directly from the fields for a rest from the heat of the noonday sun...muddy boots and all. The coke machine is not on display...it still works...put in 75 cents and you get an ice cold thick short blue-green bottle of not coke" but "Coca Cola".

Next time through Southern Indiana...if you pass through Nashville, Indiana...stop in the Muddy Boots Cafe for a root beer...you will not be disappointed.

What a quaint cafe! And I love the Coca-Cola machine - I collect Coca-Cola items, the older the better! We have a few tiny little Cafe's in my home town, but not one as charming as this. Great job!

I have to say, this is one of my favorites of your photographs! I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I may have to stare at it for another half an hour!

...I'm going to give this a look-up one of these days. I'm not too far away in Cincy. Love the looks of this place.

That does seem like a nice place to hang out for a while. Great photo!

Kelly,
Nashville Indiana is a real treat! It is a town of about 3 blocks long but full of small shops to browse...especially nice in the fall of the year.

Bobbi...
It is gloomy here as well...still the rain hanging over from yesterday...no fireworks yesterday but maybe today if it clears up. Thanks for your comment on the photo.

Shabbygirl...Thanks!

There is a lot to look at in the photo. It was taken last Fall during a visit...about 2.5 hours from where I live.

The HDR for this is extremely inviting. Don't you think?

I feel the same way at shabby girl...although, many of your photos are my favorites...

Local cafes are the best, aren't they? There's a place here called Off the Square that is.. well you probably guessed it, off the town square. They are only open for lunch, but they serve the best veggies and fried chicken you could ever ask for. Plus homemade pies and yummy cornbread.
Now I've made myself hungry.

Heather...and Heather!

Thanks for the comments...now Alabama Heather has made me hungry already at 8:30 in the morning and Vermont Heather has made look for more HDR photos!

Thanks...I needed the kick in the A@#@ to get me going early this Monday morning.
