Wrap around porch!

Another of my porch obsessions! This porch has the advantage of wrapping around the house. You can change views depending on the seasons. Out the front of the house where I took the picture is an intersection of two country roads. Down the one road there are unending rolling hills with maples that are fire red and golden at the onset of Autumn.

On the side of the house ...to the right of the picture is a view of green stretching out as the summer corn nears its' peak. As the dog days of August come and go...just move the rocking chair from one side of the porch to the other and enjoy natures' encore performances and you have a seat in the front row!

GORGEOUS!!! I love both shots. I'm definitely with you on the porch thing. And that dog is beautiful, too :)

That top one is a cracker Dan. Maybe a little too bright / blown highlights for me but glad to see you trying HDR with bw - seems to be working well!

Nice :)

Beautiful shot! Both of them. Yes, a wrap around porch, a rocking chair and a dog. Looks like home to me.

Do you see the face in the first shot? He's in the open area just to the right of the house. Looks a little like Abraham Lincoln.

I'm going to have to live a really long time in order to live in all of these houses with porches that you have me longing for, Dan.

What can I say that hasn't been said? Gorgeous--stunning--beautiful--- all true. You just you need a porch swing and it would be perfect.

(I can see the face Faye mentioned)

Dan, you know how I feel about porches - especially the wrap arounds.

There are both wonderful photos - for their own reasons. Both, I could get lost in...wander around with my imagination :)

Faye...Ha Ha...I went right back to the picture and yes I do see it! Straight view of the face...eyes, nose and even a tuft of hair! Thanks for point it out. Clouds are great for interpretation. I used to do that as a kid...thanks for the memory!

Heather thanks and the dog is friendly too! He came out to greet me while I took the picture. He was probably wondering who is this guy out in our yard!

Mark,
Thanks for the comment and yes...I was not satisfied with the blown highlights but don't really know how to get rid of them in this pic. I think it was the initial exposures. I used 2 stops up and down but with the bight sun setting, maybe I should have went to 5 1 stop exposures. I tried to compensate in photoshop but didn't get there. Thanks for the appraisal...always welcomed.

Tricia...yes a porch swing would allow you to voice your thoughts with another...rather than keep them to yourself!

Septembermom...I don't know if you all up there have had the same phenomenon this Summer but for some reason the cloud patterns in the Midwest this year have been stunning.

My kind of house, my kind of land. In this picture I see myself writing my novels, looking out the window, and breathing in the fresh scented air. You know it's all about me Dan ^__^ Great shots. I really like them. Ask them if they'd mind a triple wide moving in on their land. Just kidding.

Pura...I checked and they said come on down! They will reserve a spot right next to the house!

Have a safe move and a great weekend!
