A corona being held in the arms of a cross.....

The juxtaposition of a beer bottle and a cross was striking. My son Zach was photographing an area called the Old Dam near New Harmony Indiana when he came across this sight. This brought to mind the entire struggle of man over the ages...our weak human nature struggling against the higher spiritual yearnings of man.

So much could be read into this image...make of it what you will but in my opinion...we have all known friends and family members who have struggled with this conflict. This would make a great poster for Alcoholics Anonymous.

Zach....you have a keen eye.

Dad

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Can only agree with what you say in your post, Dan. Another really great shot by Zach! I love the sharpness and the detail of it that makes it stand out although it's all so neutral in colour.

It's fascinating how each of us interpret what we see. The first thing that came to my mind was how people leave litter no matter how beautiful the surroundings.
I think I like your concept better.
Regardless, Zach does have a good eye, apples don't fall far from the tree.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Sunny :)

Thanks Dawn Treader...Sometimes less color allows the image to have a more dramatic impact. That is why in general...a black and white image is more dramatic than a color image.

Thanks Lly...very simple but lots of room for interpretation.

Dan, that's a striking image. I agree that many discussions could begin from thinking about this image. Looks like Zach is following in his father's creative footsteps.

Quite a moving picture. Zach truly does have a gifted eye. Some things, it appears, really are hereditary.

Septembermom...he is very creative. You should see some of his videos!

Monica...I think he got it by osmosis! Always being the subject of photos in his earlier years...however now at 23 ...he shys from photos of himself!
