Rural Streets and Urban Landscapes are both are taking their toll on citizens of the night.
I was watching a documentary recently about the means streets of Chicago. But the documentary could have been about any number of cities across the United States. It was mentioned that in 2007, 60% of all the murders victims in Chicago were between the ages of 14 and 25. Gang wars are robbing our families of their children. Rural areas do not escape the gruesome statistics either. Whereas gang wars rule the city nights...Methamphetamine dealing rules the rural night. Meth labs are springing up everywhere in the Midwest...one of the main ingredients in Meth is also in fertilizer that is used for Midwest crops...an easy source of supply for a Meth Lab. Last year a whole side of a Farimont Inn was blown out in Evansville when a Meth lab blew.
Each generation seems to have their dark side...bootleggers, speed, marijuana, LSD, Cocaine, Exctasy, Meth...the crips and bloods, MS-13....External Wars for borders and ideology have become internal wars for our children and their future.
Yet anymore...it seems we have become desensitized about all this...unless your child becomes a statistic. These tragedies often explode in down economic times...I hope for our sake and our children's sake that this insanity begins to subside with a return of the economy. As I go to bed tonight, I will pray for our...your children.

Love the second one. HDR i presume?
Beautiful, as usual.
Beautiful, shining lights in the photos....belying the darkness as mentioned in your commentary. The prayers are necessary.
You take such beautiful pictures, you're posts always make me pause and take stock. :0)
Mersad,
Actually this particular image was not HDR but it does have that feeling.
Thanks Shabbygirl and have a great Holiday!

Cynthia...I was looking at the statistics state by state for Meth use and Oklahoma was one of the highest...Indiana was right up there as well.

Thank you for your comment Dyche and thanks for stopping by again.

Awfully deep thoughts to go with such beautiful photos.
I like both pics, but favor the top for the easy feeling I get looking at it. Is it perhaps Franklin Street? oh and keep praying, we can use it! I'm joining you!
Jaime...Yes it is Franklin Street...I figured you would recognize it if you visited! The offer of prayers is accepted! Have a great Labor Day weekend.
