I happened to be out at this farm at sunrise. Let me tell you why.....
It was this past Saturday while we were staying at Femme Osage. I awoke at 6:00am excited about the days possibilities. I packed up my camera and tripod and took it out to the Subaru so we could leave as soon as Karen awoke. It was still pitch dark out. Not wanting to wake anyone up at the Bed and Breakfast at that early hour, I knew that if I hit the remote unlock that it would beep quite loudly so I decided to use the key instead. When I did this...it set off the car alarm...honking, screaming incessantly! After shutting off the alarm and loding up, I sauntered back to the Bed and Breakfast to grab some coffee. I had locked myself out of the house. I didn't want to wake anyone up so I just headed back to the car and drove until sunrise...about 45 minutes!
It however was a magical time. The first frost of the year and the sunrise over the wooded hills lit the Autumn colors like they were on fire. This was a Dairy farm that was located along the Femme Osage Creek road. The house and rest of the grounds were like an artist's painting but I couldn't leave the barns. So "thankfully" I was locked out of the Bed and Breakfast so I could see the sunrise and the landscapes of the Missouri countryside...As I said yesterday...God was with me planning the day.
If you look closely at the fence...you will see a sign...that states..."Femme Osage Valley Farm".

That's a creative way to spend your "locked out time! Very much like a painting. I would love to someday have that kind of experience of waking up at a farm at sunrise. Maybe I'll just have to visit your neck of the woods someday. Really beautiful.
DAN!
You have perfested that bit you do so well that I thought I was looking at a painting all this while!
WOW!
pardon...that should be "perfected"
I've died and gone to heaven!

P.S. I'll be posting the saltbox next Tuesday.
Septembermom...DITTO! I would love to see New York and New England in the Autumn...I have a feeling it puts the Midwest to shame.

funny start to your day but it paid off well. lovely photo! I am a country gal at heart so this scene is very familiar and feels homey.

Love the shade of red. Great shot Dan.
I love this red barn, Dan! You know I love barns and outbuildings anyway, but the vivid color is on this is outstanding!
Thank you Doreen and thanks for visiting. I noticed that you are from Michigan and I am sure there are a multitude of beautiful landscapes there as well.
