Well...it has begun!

Welcome to Black Friday. Thanksgiving has just passed and we move on to the Christmas season. Let's hope that this Christmas Season brings more than gifts under the tree that last for a short while and are followed by a January and February that ladens us with debt.

I hope for a Christmas Day at home with family and friends...a bright tree, wassail and gifts which one cannot attach a price tag to...gifts of unrestricted time, real conversations and
re- connection.

Yes Dan, once again the 'silly season' begins, they have had Christmas decorations, cards, carols in the stores here since November 1st.
I hope you get the Christmas you have wished for dear Dan.
I just want a quiet, peaceful Christmas with my immediate family and close friends, no expensive presents, just thoughtful little gifts that will please the recipient... after all it is the thought that counts and being together as a family is the best gift. ♥

I agree completely. That is my hope, too.

Great photo. I'm sure you could guess that Heather doesn't do Black Friday :)

I'm ready to begin the Christmas Spirit though...yes, yes :) and totally agree with re-connecting and warmth of family, rather than debt.

It seems like a couple of days ago I was taking pictures of lovely summer flowers in bloom...where did the time go?
I will celebrate Black Friday with your wonderful, festive photo as I have no desire to battle the die hard shoppers today.

Dianne...this year with the world's economy and lost jobs in so many families...this is the year that maybe we can back to traditions of earlier Christmases and be better for it.

Heather...I know you would not be in a line at Walmart this morning at 4 am! I am also glad your not! Just stay there in the warmth of the wood burning stove today.

Sunny...I am not battling them either! Although I have to say I was tempted...a 2oo dollar net book looked pretty good but I fought it off!

I love your words, "gifts of unrestricted time, real conversations and re-connection". That's what the holiday's focus should be. Terrific photo Dan. Thank you!

Septembermom...I think the "unrestricted time" tops my list. Something we rarely do anymore.
