I love how the train track leads off into the distance, maybe to a warmer place.
It's been so cold here that even the people that enjoy winter activities have been staying inside to keep warm.
I've had enough winter!
Sunny :)
Wow, that's one old building!
Lovely contrast and composition. Like it as I did your other photos.
Wow this was deep.. Loved your thoughts on this beautiful, intriguing shot...
Thanks.. :)
I like Sunny's thoughts about the tracks leading to somewhere warmer. In that case, I'd LOVE to be on that train! As I've said countless times over the past few weeks - this winter weather is miserable. As a southerner, I'm just not built for it!!
Beautiful shot, though - as always!! :)
... and yet you manage to make a colourful picture out of it!!!
Sunny...the only problem is that the tracks are headed north! For some reason I have had my fill of winter also and we haven't even had a snow yet but we will tomorrow...I think.
Dan
M...thanks and the HDR process works great with all things old...it brings out the details of aging...that is why I will never take an HDR self portrait!
Dan
Thanks Indryani...I am sure you all up north have had your fill of winter as well!
Dan
Alabama Heather...the only problem is as I told Sunny...the picture is shot as I looked North! I need to turn around and take a picture of the tracks headed South!
Dan
Thanks Dawn Treader! It was really a miserably cold day when I took this picture. I didn't heed my wife's warnings as I walked out the door...."Be sure to take your gloves"...Me...being Mr. Macho braved the cold without them...I learned my Macho lesson!
Dan
*the only problem is that the tracks are headed north!*
Then I'll just have to walk backwards! Ha-ha!
Sunny
hahahhaha, you're right HDR of myself? Will never do.. tried it once and I was 30 years old in seconds.
Cool. I've never seen a grain elevator before.
Sunny...I will be following in your "awkward" footsteps!
Dan
Lly...they are very common here in the Midwest...think of them as a grocery store for farm animals!
Dan
It is indeed horrifically cold here. And yet, I have garnered warmth here.
Hope you well are Dan.
Come visit when you can, you are always welcome.
I could look at this shot for hours. It reminds me of home.
Awesome thoughts to accompany an interesting shot.
Muse...thank you. I will be visiting again...I lost your blog for a while and miss it!
Dan
Tricia...now that you mention it...it does look like some of the images from your area and your past posts.
Dan
Septembermom...I would guess you don't see many grain elevators on the way to Manhattan!
Dan
Dan, I found a pair of "photography friendly" mittens today... ;) Pictures of them in a post at my blog today if you want to see what they look like! Also have two other posts today that you might perhaps enjoy. ♥
