The frigid temperatures had frozen the creek in stop motion.

I was tempted to get out on it for a picture but decided against it. It probably would have held though. "Rush Creek" in a nearby state park is usually a busy place pin the Summer with Tubers and Fisherman but today I had it all to myself. Strange to be here with no sound, no movement of any kind...just the occasional snapping of a branch by a red bird or blue jay looking for food.

How very beautiful Dan and to have it all to yourself apart from some birds ... :) ♡

We've spoken before about our shared love for water - so it must have been a treat to have this quiet place to yourself for a while..
Beautiful picture as always :)

Now that you bring it up, I've never seen a frozen creek. That must be odd. This is a beautiful scene.

Beautiful scene, Dan.
Glad you didn't walk on it because you may have ended up the creek, so to speak!

Thought it was a road at first (just seeing the little thumbnail picture)!

Dianne...quite a change from the Summer months...the bridge I am standing on to take the picture is often packed with people!

Heather...I know you like to tube but better wait on this one until July or so! Might be a bit crisp in the water right now!

Shabbygirl...I am glad you made the comment about creeks freezing. If you live in an area where there are mountains and the water is run off...there is always movement of some kind so they very seldom ever freeze over. However in the relatively flat Midwest...the water moves very slowly and will freeze solid in the Winter.

Dawn Treader...it DOES look like a dirt road now that you mention it!
