With Spring you can be guaranteed that two things happen in Indiana...the Blue Jays return with a vengeance and the
Little 500 bicycle race is run at Indiana University! The race has been a tradition for 60 years...this year will be the 60th running of the race. There was a movie bout the race and filmed in Bloomington, Indiana ...the home of I.U. named "
Breaking Away" starring Dennis Quaid.
I am lucky enough to have been chosen to be a "photography intern" this year and be one of 5 photographers to have full access to the race to be able to chronicle the event. I will have the opportunity to work under pro photographers for the day and follow their lead. I will have full access to the pits to be able to film the race from the rider's point of view. The race is today and I am out of the loop for the entire day and hopefully when I return...I will have some photos to post of the event if the race committee allows me to use the photos for my own use.
Wish me luck!
Dan

Cute bird pictures! :) And I wish you fun at the race...
That first photo looks so feminine to me...the eyes, I can see fluffy feather eye lashes :)
Nice job, Dan. Someone is spoiled at your house with peanuts.
Congratulations and hope that you have a wonderful day. I have no doubt that you will capture the accent of the racer.
Judging by these, and all of your photos, I'd say you were already a professional! These are exquisite! Fantastic shots, both of them! The first one shines with personality, and the second, well, it's like you can read his mind picking which peanut.
Can't wait to see what you come home with!
Good luck!
Thats such a beautiful bird..! This totally made my day!
:)
Dan, the bluejays are beautiful- I have never seen them before, I don't think we have them in Scotland. That race sounds like fun!
I know that some people consider the blue-jays to be an ornery bird. I love to see them, though. They are beautiful. Your photos are wonderful!
;^)
Hope you have had a super fun day and got lots of great shots.
;^)
I think you already have the luck to be able to go! So congratulations. Hope you give us some pointers as you learn!
And the jay photos are exquisite.
Dawn Treader I had a fabulous time and got some great pictures...on the trip and at the race.

Heather...Neat! I never noticed the eyelashes! Yes they are incredibly spoiled rotten! Now we have to keep feeding them.
Dan
Thanks Shabbygirl...I am back today with some new pictures for the coming week...or weeks!
Dan
Thank you St. Pete Sunny! I am glad you are stopping by again.
Dan
Indrayani...I am glad it made your day...in turn you made mine!
Dan
Lesley...Welcome to the blog and thanks for stopping by! I am honored to have someone from Scotland visit. Stop by anytime and thanks for the kind words.
Dan
Cynthia...thank you and I don't think they are nasty birds either although many people do not like them. They can become aggressive when the babies are born...but then again so do we if our children are threatened!
I am posting a picture next Wednesday with something in it you will recognize.
Dan
Thanks Rebecca...I will post them as I get then finished...I have some interesting shots.

Gorgeous photos Dan. You never cease to amaze me wit the things you capture on film. I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Can't wait to see the photos from the race :)
You're becoming quite the celeb! Pretty soon we'll all be saying, "Oh that Dan, I knew him when he was just a blogger!"
The Blue Jays are beautiful.
Sunny :)
P.S. I love the Far Side too. My all time favorite was the 'Boneless Chicken Ranch'--all the chickens were flopped all over the fences, the ground, etc. Guess you'd have to see it to appreciate it-ha!ha!
