Usefullness passed....

Items found on the wall of an old barn.

Once these items were shiny metal attached to a new barn. Now the weather has eaten away the newness and replaced it with wormholes and pitted rust marks. They serve as a reminder that all things are useful...even though they may seem now that their beauty has faded....the strength lies below the surface sheltered from the elements.

I have a soft spot for old barns and weatherworn houses. These shots are really good, like everything I see here.

Oh, and congratulations on the contest.

I think these are more beautiful now than when shiny and new.
Hope this was a better week for you.

For some reason these pictures remind me of pictures you've shown earlier taken by you son!

I love details like these. :)

BJ thank you so much for the comment. You share the same love of old barns and houses as many other folks who visit the blog. There is just something about an old structure that begs to tell it's history to anyone who will listen.

Sunny...this was a better week ... thanks. Sorry I have not visited the blog for a bit...I have been swamped but I plan to get back to Barnyards goats and cows from New England very soon!

Dawn Treader...you have a keen eye! Actually these are a lot like Zach's style now that you mention it. My images are usually a bit over the top and over saturated with color where as Zach like closeups and more muted colors. I often forget about close ups but I enjoy taking them when I think about it.

Your photographs are all wonderful but my favorite is the old key.
