A needed respite

This summer as probably with many of you has been a very busy, disjointed not-typical Summer for me.

With my Dad's rehabilitation, studying for the two upcoming Praxis tests in order to recieve my teaching license in Indiana and at the same time going through an interview process...I needed a day and night off so I went fishing.

The image is of my friend while I was at the other end of the boat taking pictures. It had been the end of a perfect day of fishing...the final "frosting" on the cake was when the geese returned to the lake just before sunset.

It was quiet all around and then we heard the distance honking getting louder and louder. They landed all around us in a graceful soft approach that would have make any veteran pilot proud. By the time they landed it was almost too dark to get a picture that was not blurry.

What a treat and Thanks to Dr. Powell for letting us fish and Pat...thanks for letting me tag along.

What a spectacular image. I'm glad you took some time for yourself, hope the fish were biting.

Perfect picture, Dan. The colours are amazing and one can feel the peace.

Someone sent me a link for your blog, because I'm an Evansville blogger, too. I'm glad that they did! Stunning sunset! I love the geese against the colors.

Sunny...actually the fish were biting...bass and bluegill. That was the icing on the cake! There is one thing that wasn't biting however...the copperhead that was under the boat in the cool when we moved it into the water.
