A study in Black and White

For the last couple of days I have posted black and white images. So often with my photographs,
I stretch the limits of color and contrast to almost the extreme. However, there are certain images that just work better in monochrome. Often dramatic landscapes carry more of an impact when just black and white...the colors don't get in the way of the lay of the land. On the second image of the old rake abandoned and rusting...I just couldn't help but to add back in a bit of muted color...it just must be in my genes!

Hope your Sunday is full of color.

I love the moody skies and I think you already know how I feel about barns!
Hope you have a super Sunday.

Dramatic skies in both pictures. I like the black-and-white but also the bit of added colour in the second.

Great photos rendered in black and white. I think from now on I should learn how to properly post-process black and white photos.

Thanks DawnTreader...the pictures were taken on the same day not far apart so the sky was similar in both.

Thanks Mary...sometimes black and white works better than color. I often forget about black and white since I am so addicted to color!
