The Swimming Hole

Growing up...we had a lake that became my home away from home.

Even though this is not the lake that we owned...the dock in the middle of the lake brought me back to the lake of my youth. We built a dock in the middle such as this one. So many stories about that dock and that lake. Prom Parties, midnight swimming, our dogs chasing after tree limbs we threw out in the middle, a trip round the lake would bring in enough frog legs for a meal, and the different season viewed from the dock. Even walking out to the dock in the winter across the frozen lake.

I still visit that lake about once a year and fish there. It is like a wormhole to my youth.

Sunny...anytime I see a lake and a dock...I think of those carefree days. Hope you had a great 4th as well!

Thanks Septembermom...it was a still, hot day but the water looked refreshing enough to jump in for a swim!
