The Plight of the Midwest

During the Great Depression the dust bowl in the Plains and Midwest ravaged the livelihoods of so many families...at least as the dry winds blew and the topsoil of the barren fields disappeared, the houses and barns remained...providing a starting point for the families once the crisis passed.

This Spring in those same areas has not been so kind...the houses...homes...barns...communities in Tuscaloosa, Joplin and other towns no longer exist. No starting point...no point of anchor for families as they emerged from their basements to survey the damage and stood in their living room only to look directly at the sky above them where once a ceiling sheltered the family. And these were the lucky ones...so many never survived the fury of the F5.

As this torturous season moves into a lazy Summer let's keep those families in our prayers and help them in any way we can.
