The Caretaker

The massive sycamore has been there far longer than the late nineteenth century house it protects.

It has served over the years as it's caretaker. Helping cool the house in it's shade during decades of dog day afternoons....donated it's dead limbs as firewood to warm the children's bedrooms in the dead of winter....lending a sturdy horizontal branch for the tire swing and has always proudly displayed it's bright yellows and oranges in the Autumn.

It has outlived countless generations that made the house their home...never complaining...always there Just there.
