House on 1st Street

Pick your small town in Vermont, California, Alabama or Minnesota.

There will be a similar house on First Street. In so many small towns dotted across the country, houses were built at the turn of the century hoping for the promise of a bright future. Families were raised, children took over when they came of age and the parents returned to the homestead as old age approached. It was all about family and taking care of their own...a forgotten art in today's America.

There is something to be said of strong family ties.

I love old houses. I don't know why everyone wants a new home. Older homes have much more character and a story to tell. Nice image!
