Each spring I visit a nearby Amish community. I took this last spring during the "birthing season". During this time of year each gravel or dirt road you follow yields mares and their foals. This is a time of growth for nature and the Amish depend heavily on a productive spring. Not only for the early gardens which dot the countryside but their livestock as well. It seems that the Percherons know that come spring....the family gets larger and the cycles of new birth and rebirth continue. Gratefully, it is almost February....with the end of February in the midwest, sights, scents and sounds of spring begin to blossom.

Beautiful photo, there is great separation between the background and subject, almost as if it was a perfect cut and paste! I love it!
A great picture for 'looking forward'
Thanks Steve but it really isn't a cut and paste! However i did add a gradient to the grass.
