One's imagination fills in the blanks

Often a photograph fails to provide the full picture. To me an incomplete image lets the viewer complete the picture. The completed image will be different for each person but indeed each completed image will be the correct one....for you.

If the camera were pointed over the shoulders of the onlookers towards the object of their attention, there would be nothing for the viewer to participate in. I see skepticism, approval, humor, inquiry, even a sense of mentorship. Whatever the object of attention, for sure these onlookers have the experience and skills to judge for themselves.

Beautiful color. So true, it was always fun in school to listen to students fill in the blanks while looking at photographs by others.
