A mix of the Dordogne Valley

I have been blogging about the beauty and tranquility of the Dordogne region of France.  One of the advantages of spending more than a few days in a region is that you really get the chance to see life on a daily basis.

I thought I would post a mix of images taken during our 10 days in the Dordogne that were not just green and landscapes.  The images range from a visit to a local Flea Market which is very popular in this area, to a wonderful vendor that we had a chance to spend some time with.  His specialty was crepes...crepes of every type.  Sweet crepes sprinkled with powered sugar and filled with wonderful homemade jellies and jams to spicy sausages wrapped in crepes.  He really loved interacting with the public as they passed by.  When younger children would order a sweet crepe,  his eyes would light up as he extended the warm bit of heaven to a waiting child.

There was the wonderful meal at a small restaurant in Les Eyzies.  A meal of Fruits de Mer and local wines with a desert of fresh peach glace (ice cream).  Scenes in the hilltop village of Domme, a walled village founded in the early middle ages and preserved until this day.  It was storming the day we were there and I photographed mothers rushing back to their cars with their infants in tow to beat the wind and rain that was quickly approaching.
