Cades Cove, Tennessee - Late Summer.Cades Cove is one of the most peaceful places i have ever visited. This was a thriving community from the 1800's until the government purchased the land for the Smokey Mountain National Park in the early 1930's. To have lived, raised a family and been part of this community must have been a wonderful life...even with the hardships of day to day living in those times. To awake in the morning, step outside and breathe in the crisp floral air and solitude must have betrayed any feelings of insecurity or fear of the outside world.
In addition to this post, my next two posts will be from the vantage point of the cabin...looking out over the valley...one shot in late Autumn and one in Spring.
If ever traveling though Southeastern Tennessee, stop by Cades Cove for a day...spend time by your self, unhurried and reflect on the lives and community now past. Click on the picture to view in a larger format and imagine yourself living in such a peaceful quiet place.
