Often in the dead of winter, I return to this image. The tropical colors, the faint shadows of the palm trees casting their umbrella on the wall and the gold reflection of the summer sun in the window brings on musings of the warmth and salty air I enjoyed during the trip south.

The colors caught my eye but also I wondered how it must feel to live every day in a tropical paradise. Does one get used to it and take it for granted? As much as I would like to think not, I suppose one takes for granted their surroundings, no matter where they live. As mundane as we sometimes find our home base, there is always someone who envies our surroundings. Maybe we should re-evaluate our lot in life once in a while and know that there are worthwhile qualities to each of us. Remembering that is the hard part.
