With the last vestiges of twilight on the wane, I'm certain that we surprised each other. In the low visibility, she couldn't see me but she knew I was there. With a slow confident pan from side to side, she was at the same time daring me and warning me not to follow. I was more than happy to comply. Alaska's Kenai Peninsula was this wolf's home...not mine.
