Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The relative power and speed of a hummingbird's wings is phenomenal. Thank goodness for gravity, centrifugal force, earth's orbit and order in the universe. Just as you feel the boat push away from you as you step onto the dock, the same may happen when the hummingbird powers up his wings if the earth was not anchored and laws of physics were of little consequence. The power of the beating wings would send the earth into a violent spin...equal and opposite reaction. Crazy, I know but it is fun to think of the "what if's" sometimes!
