( http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/ ). Each day she posts a prompt and you can respond in a reply that takes no more than a minute to write. Very entertaining and really is good training as well if you like to write. She then will post a winner each day. Her other blog is more of a personal blog about things on her mind and it is very entertaining as well...CBeth Blog (http://cbethblog.blogspot.com/ ). Finally she is beginning to provide a podcast for her one minute writer (http://oneminutewriterpodcast.blogspot.com/ ) and for her CBeth Blog (http://cbethpodcast.blogspot.com/ ). Thank you C Beth and here in her own words....
Since I'm writing a guest post for a photo blog, I thought it would be appropriate for me to post a photo and write about what it means to me. This photo was not taken by me. I was at the time getting dried off after getting out of the large bathtub where I'd just given birth to my second child, a boy known as "Zoodle" in the blogosphere. My doula (labor assistant) took this picture--and I'm so glad she did.
This is my husband, The Engineer, getting to know his new son. Zoodle was only about ten minutes old here. There are several things I love about this image. I adore The Engineer's gentle face, gazing at his son; and his arms, cradling this new treasure with the perfect mixture of gentleness and steadiness. Even as Zoodle's eyes appear to be scrunched up, and he was probably crying, can't you just see the sacred awe of the moment?
I'd been holding Zoodle for nine months. I'm so grateful that I have this visual record of the first time his father got to hold him. It was a beautiful moment.

C Beth,
What a great memory to share! We adopted so this is a perspective that I never would have been able to talk about on my blog. That is what is so nice with a guest poster such as yourself. I love to be able to post a photo I took and talk about how it made me feel but the chance to hear from a different point of view always adds to the depth of the experience. Thanks fortaking the time to share it with our readers.
Dan
C Beth,
What a sweet, sweet photograph. Thanks for sharing such a speical memory!!
C Beth,
What a wonderful and special moment captured! Your description is just beautiful. I think there is always something special about a man with a baby. Big strong men turn to mush in an instant...nothing better. Thank you for sharing!
A poignant moment for sure. You can feel the love in your photo and your words.
How wonderful to have something so treasurable, when she wasn't able to be there to see "the moment" for herself. Blessing indeed!!! Sweetness found in a photo.
Dan, greatness! Super idea to share your space here in this way.
This is so precious. Although babies come out looking a little squished at first, I have started to adore that just brand new look they have in the first day so much because it only lasts that long. :) What a sweet moment.
This generated the memory of a moment that was not captured on film. Two of my daughters stood with me outside of the delivery-room doors where my first-born was giving birth to her first-born. (Only her husband was allowed to be in with her, as it was C-section.) We heard the baby gulp her first breath of air and then let out that deep, wail from the anger of being drug out into the cold atmosphere of earth and her peaceful surroundings being disturbed. We all took one look into each others eyes and burst into tears at the same moment. Hugging, laughing, crying, ecstatic...trying to find words, but not able to. They were not necessary. Priceless.
Thank you.
Cynthia--What a beautiful memory! I love that first cry! (The subsequent cries over the years...don't love them so much.) ;)
