Stately, majestic, venerable...words that are often used to describe an old oak, or elm tree.

However, those descriptors came to mind last evening as I passed by this perfect Dogwood in bloom. At least in my area of the country, I am used to Dogwoods with unshapely trunks, small split off branches jutting out in all directions almost bush like in appearance.

This beauty however, was as if it had been shaped by a sculptor. Strong steady trunk, branching out perfectly balanced with a canopy of brilliant white. I am certain that the chairs beneath its shelter have seen many quiet conversations quenched by an ice cold lemonade. At least in Southern Indiana...Spring has Sprung!
