Hello everyone, I'm Dani from Dani's Daily Drop and Golden Tears of Joy. I'm a mom of two, a two-year old and a 5 month old, and I'm busy with life and the rest of the time I'm blogging. (danisdailydrop.blogspot.com and goldentearsofjoy.blogspot.com)
This is my two-year-old. I call him Mr. Grins at the Drop. This day in particular was sunny enough that I didn't want to stay inside, but chilly/windy enough that I put a hat on the kid to keep his ears from turning red. We went down the street to this park where Mr. Grins enjoyed himself on this slope of grass next to the playground. The playground didn't seem to catch his fancy at all. He was too interested in the beauty of nature. It was so joyful to watch him, in his childlike fantasy, bask in the green around him. He loved the feeling of going up and down the hill. He would throw his little ball and watch it roll down, then turn and slide down on his tummy, feet first, until he got to the bottom. What a careful little kid. He was also mesmerized by the pine cones that lay around.
I went to the bottom of the slope and looked up at him from the grass and just loved the way he looked with the big sky above him so I snapped some photos. The photo seems to really show how big the world is to a child, and how beautiful it can be. The playground toys were painted with graffiti and looked dreadful...no wonder he didn't take interest. The sky was so blue, the grass, so green, and there's just so much out there to discover! I'm so excited for the warmer weather greeting us! It will be so fun to follow my toddler's adventures!

Great post Dani...as your son gets older, you will be so glad you have these photos. I like the way you shot the picture of him on the hill from his point of view. So many times adults take pictures of children from withering heights! This gives the perspective of the child's world. Thanks for guest posting.
Dan
WOW, Dani. You have shared two of my favorites - children and sky :o). I have to admit - I have alot of favorites but these are great. I like the view point of the second one...makes the hill look steep (scary for one who is afraid of hill heights..haha).
I just read what Dan wrote - being distracted for a minute by my own boys, I glanced back to my comment and read Dan's...I suppose we both caught that hill view, huh?
Great post! Thanks to the both of you for sharing :o)
Hey Dan- I forgot to ask if you'd like to put a guest post on my blog! Take your pick of either posting at Dani's Daily Drop or at Golden Tears of Joy- whichever you'd like. I would be happy to feature you as you have featured me. :) Just email me ok?
Dan- Thanks for your comment too, by the way, I love how you say it's shot from the child's perspective. Since you're more a photographer than me, I hadn't even thought of it that way...just thought it looked cool. LOL. I'm not that practiced at photography, but now that you say it I really think that's why I like these pictures so much!
Simply Heather- I am glad you enjoyed the photos too. I love how you say "afriad of hill heights", haha! He certainly is...wouldn't try to walk down...well, I think he may have and fell so he didn't again. :)
Dani,
I am so sorry...yes I did pick it up off your email. I will edit the post with just your first name. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Dan... it's ok, no biggy! :)
Dani,
What a beautiful post and terrific photos! It's refreshing to see all the beauty of nature from a child's perspective. Your Mr. Grins is a true explorer :) These are memories that you and your husband will always treasure. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you septembermom- I hope to continue making wonderful memories and capturing them in photographs...if I'm lucky enough. I think I need a better camera though. :)
Dani,
Your photos are fine!
Dan
Great pictures! I like how the second one is shot from below, showing how small he is and the vastness of the sky symbolizing the promise of possibilities ahead of him.
This was a great idea Dan!
Thanks Shabby Girl- I thought this vantage point brought a great perspective on childhood. It was a fun day. Thanks for commenting!
How fun, Dani! "What a cute little boy," Chickie said. :)

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a
sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off
topic but I had to tell someone!
