Last month I posted a photo of Salt Lake city as the sun was setting behind me to the west. This photo was taken the same evening from a different vantage point.

This photo is about contrasts. The striking contrast of the setting sun on the white buildings caught my eye. The grandeur of the mountains in the background added to the contrast as well. Not only contrasting colors but man and nature contrasted as well.

Stunning, Dan. Absolutely stunning. Your pictures always have such a magical quality. And they always fire up that little part of my that wants to hit the road and see the sights.

Well, Dan, I think I've never knowed
A village with a mountain what glowed.
Unless it was filled with uranium...
which probably would explain the pink striped, yallow paisleyed, blue and orange leafed geranium.
(that everybody in town grows)
(not really. I really don't knows...)

The mountains are breathtaking in this shot. Almost overpowering in their magnitude. Amazing to behold.

Boneman...
Sounds like you have been partaking some of that radioactive substance yourself! I always look forward to your avatars...they seem to change about every 3 weeks.

Oh- and you did get my award right?

Breath-taking. Stunning. Awe-inspiring. It's as if that ring of white buildings was singled out for some glowing purpose.
Or maybe it is the uranium. No matter. Every time I stop in, I think I've found a new Dan F. favorite. I like what you have to say about contrasts.
Excellent. Thank you.

Thank you Cynthia...I appreciate the comments. I often increase the saturation on my photos but on this particular one...the setting sun did cast almost a violet glow over the valley. It was a beautiful moment.
