This time of year is like that day in early Spring when you want to get out into the warm sun but the sun still hangs onto the clouds...not yet releasing it's warmth.

The Autumn is anticipated just as Spring is in April. It is that transition time when the leaves are just beginning to fall but they are still green...the grass is turning the yellow green of early Autumn but the temperatures still rise to the 80's. As the picture above...we are caught between the greens of Summer and the reds and oranges of Autumn.

The great thing about our blogging friends is that we will see the photos of changing leaves from New England long before we see them here...as we in the Midwest, South, Southwest and West wait with anticipation of the Season of beauty.

Well, I guess it happens to all of us at some point in the blogging world...today was my first. I have deleted the first comment...the person who left it is not welcomed on this blog...these images are not of interest to the followers of this blog.

Let's not start a war of bots and porn...you have your own sites for that.

To the followers of the blog...if these creep in before I can delete them...please accept my apologies.

I had the same problem on my book review blog and I eventually had to start moderating comments before they were posted. Some people need to just get a life.

Great photo, by the way - you have such a good eye, Dan!

I like your narrative. This will be my second Autumn ever and I'm looking forward to the change of colors!

Bobbi...thanks for the advice...I have not ever moderated comments but if this would continue...I guess I will have to...I am going to wait and see what happens.

I also love experiencing the color and beauty of the changing seasons from the generous bloggers who share their photography with all of us. Dan, you always add beauty to my day! I hope those nasty blogger invaders "don't come around here no more". Looks like I'm channeling Tom Petty in that last line :)

Hey Septembermom....Channeling Tom Petty is a good thing! You can't go wrong with sounding like him!

As always, a beautiful picture, Dan. We have had a sorry excuse for summer up here in Canada this year, particularly in Ontario. It was cold and rainy the entire summer. Depressing, really. These last few weeks have actually been quite nice, with summer-like temperatures and sunny days. Figures ... just in time for winter. *sigh* I think Mother Nature lost her BlackBerry.

By the way ... thumbs up on hitting the 'kill switch'. I don't think anyone would be offended if you moderated your comments.

I had problems with unwanted comments, so now I moderate them.
Your picture is wonderful, I really love old houses and barns. Autumn is slowly creeping into our area. By the end of the month,it will start to speed up!

Monica...we had a mild Summer in the Midwest as well. We had about 2 or 3 days when the heat index got up to 105...but we usually have a week or more of actual temperatures in this range..not so this Summer.
