One Year Anniversary!

365 days and 375 posts later...I have made it through my first year with the Blog!

It goes without saying that I want to thank everyone for the camaraderie over the past year and your putting up with my sometimes over the top pictures and narratives. I appreciate you all so much and I treasure all the friends I have made all over the world...it is truly an amazing thing...this wired world. Again, I have said it before but if I ever begin to waver from my purpose: posting images and posting narratives that relate the back story of the picture when I took it or with some relative facts historical or otherwise...jerk me back on track. Hopefully we can all meet here again one year from now! Thank you one and all...I treasure each of you.
Dan

Just a quick recap of rules:
1. Read the clue
2. Search my blog for a post earlier than Aug '09 that matches the clue.
3. Return to the comments for today's post and leave a description of the photograph
4. First one to make the correct guess wins a matted photo of their choice from the blog.
5. I will announce today's winner with tomorrow's post.
6. I will be monitoring your comments in case you have a question.

Now the clue for today's contest ...remember to post your answers on today's comments:

Young and naive I walked winding streets
Eyes held me hostage, never again to meet
A thankful nod and I walked on
Looking back...he was gone.

Good luck!
Dan

I think your clue refers to your post of February 26th...the man with a red nose that maybe a clown.
Now I will spend the rest of the day with my fingers crossed!

Congratulations again on your 1 year anniversary.
Sunny :)

To throw in another suggestion than the ones already made I'll say Jan 1, man on park bench in Paris.

AHA!!! I knew I was wrong....

I kept thinking about it after I wrote that last comment and just didn't settle.

Here it is, Dan.

The little boy with the beautiful eyes on your Saturday, November 22, 2008 post:

Arenys de Mar, Spain. The Gold coast. I spent 3 weeks in a hostel while hitchhiking Europe in the 70's. I walked the winding bricks streets camera in hand hoping for a chance of a lifetime.

There - I did do it :)

Congratulations, Dan!!!
Yep, Heather got it...I scanned through all of your November, 2008 posts, which I had not done before. What a nice walk back that was.
;^)
The post of the little boy in Spain is amazing. You're right...he's now a philosopher or a shaman...or maybe he was actually an angel...and that's why he disappeared so fast.
;^)

Ooooh...an Angel :) - One never does really know now, huh, C? Nice thoughts.

I HATE TO RUN CONTESTS!!!! I love to participate but not run them.

I am the kid at Christmas who can't keep a secret...I want to comment on the answers so far...but I think I need to unplug my keyboard! As answers come in...I won't comment on any of the guesses but if someone comments other than a guess...I will respond.

Thanks to everyone so far for giving it a shot!

Lly, thanks for the comment. I love a "simple" image and so often I find that of the images I have shot ...the simple ones appeal to me the most. But I always find myself saturating colors etc...I think that has become my style but I like simple as well.

Sunny...Heather...Cynthia...Dawn Treader and Womanwisdom...thanks for participating so far.

I always enjoy responding to comments made....but for today....well I am taping my fingers to my belt, and sticking a fork in the motherboard...then I won't be able to respond!

Septembermom...thanks for the shout out! Good luck with the contest and you can make as many guesses as you want. If you guess, then change your mind...no problem...just guess again like Heather did. When I read the comments if there is more than one correct guess...I will go with the first one who leaves the correct answer.

Congrats on your one year anniversary, Dan! Your blog is still one of my favorite stops every day!!

Hi Dan,
One quick question...can a person win more than once?
No forks to the motherboard!!

Bobbi...thank you so much and I remain a frequent visitor to yours as well...so many of your experiences match mine ...both of us living in the Midwest with that Indiana/Kentucky connection.

Sunny...GREAT QUESTION. And thanks for the reminder. I had originally said that a person can only win once...so the maximun amount of folks would have a shot at winning...BUT...I have changed my mind. I figure I only do one contest a year so why not take out all the stops! I will put up a post today and explain how one can win more than once.

Darn it! I was too busy at work to post until now, but Heather is right. El niño de España on November 22. He is so adorable with those haunting eyes. I just want to snatch him up and hold him until the sadness goes away.

*sigh* I may not be able to post early enough until Thursday morning since I'll be home packing before I leave for Mexico. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Monica with all that you have going on...you are a real trooper to stop by...thanks and good luck. I can't comment on your guess!!!
