I lingered in the last throws of the blue twilight as it washed the old buildings on Main Street.

The warm glow from a local art gallery drew me in. All across the country in towns big and small are hopeful artists trying their best to fulfil dreams that often go unnoticed. I have seen so many artists...music, design, painters, and sculptors that really are just as talented as those who have "made" it. The difference being only that the scout or the art critic has just not passed their way and given them that "break" they need to burst onto the "scene". They have the same belief in their work, the same passion for their niche...they put just as much sweat and thought into their portfolios as does the artist on 5th Avenue or the performer at Carnegie Hall.

As I walked away from the art gallery...empty of patrons...but full of hopes and dreams...I prayed that tomorrow or sometime soon that art critic would pass through this sleepy town and stop by to browse the undiscovered diamonds in the ruff.

Love this!! It's intriguing and spiritual, Dan. Really. But, of course, I'd say that...Art inspires me :)

Little galleries are one of my favorite places to wander through and this one is so inviting.
We have a little country store in our town that has a little gallery in the corner with some wonderful artwork waiting to be discovered.

I love the colours in this picture. It also really enhances your narrative, or if it is the other way round perhaps... The perspective of someone looking in from outside, longing to belong...

Sunny...I think personally that many times the best finds are in the little out of the way galleries.

Dawn Treader...the twilight cast the blue colors...at first I was going to color correct it but then I thought I would leave it alone.

The "blue" is captivating here.

Looking at this image is like being in a dream scape - lost and frightened out in the cold but on reaching out and stepping in through the closed door is the promise of dreams, of warth and of safety.
This image has had a remarkably powerful emotional effect upon me. Thank you, Dan.

Thanks Septembermom...usually the blue means the end of a day...just before nightfall.

Thanks S. Barbie...I am glad you enjoyed it. The cold blues and the warm yellows are at odds with each other in the picture and help provide a stark contrast in mood from outside to inside.
