Clearing of the fog

This weekend, a friend of mine went out of town and asked me to check on his dog while he was gone. The morning brought heavy fog. As I was leaving his house the fog began to lift and I saw ahead of me the glorious early fall colors and the diffused light at the end of the lane.

I think the colors are due to a lack of rain in this area for two months and not the changing of the leaves...a bit too early for that yet here in the Midwest...but this is a harbinger of what is to come over the next two months...I am looking forward to the most beautiful season of the year.

This scene is magical, all that's missing is a unicorn :)
Have a great week.

Beautiful photo "looking ahead"... Our autumn so far sort of feels like it might be one of those that just fades quietly into brown. I hope I'm wrong.

Just today I have noticed autumnally coloured leaves of some bushes by the road and I thought it was too soon for such a scene... But the truth is that we are in the middle of September and it's time to leave summer behind. The picture looks like a gate into another world. :-)

Sunny there originally was a Unicorn just to the right side of the road...but he trotted off when I took the picture. They are shy creatures.

Heather...YES...so am I. Finally get rid of the brutally hot weather this past Summer. I bet you guys really had it bad down there in Alabama.

Thank you for the comment Petra...this Summer seems to disappear no sooner than it arrived!
