One more check off the Bucket List....

I got my first guitar when I was a junior in High School...played on through college and past for a few more years.

I by no means am accomplished with the instrument...as a matter of fact it has been a few years now since I have played. Zach picked up the same interest and has played for several years and plays much better than me.

I t has always been a dream of mine to build my own guitar but never tried..its seemed like such a daunting task. About a month ago...Zach and his buddy Carl came out and said they wanted to build a guitar. That was just the excuse I needed to attempt what I thought may be impossible. I have a workshop where I have always worked with wood and the tools we needed...the only thing we needed to add was the research and guts to try.

So far we have surprised ourselves! It isn't finished yet but we are well on our way. I will update with photos when we finish our dream. What a great project Zach and I have shared together ...those nights out in the workshop...what a treat!

Have a great Sunday.

Dan

Love watching people work with their hands - therapeutic.

(Finding it very slow to visit your site nowadays. The Jigsaw thing takes a while to load.

It's great when dreams come true and when we find motivation to pursuit them. I wish you good luck to complete the guitar successfully, Dan. Great photos, by the way. :-)

Heather...It has been a real treat! So far we have not screwed it up but we have a ways to go yet. Hopefully we will finish it up in about a month. I will let you know if it sounds heavenly or hellish! I will be satisfied with something between.

Dawn Treader...yep it has been fun. I don't spend as much time in the wood shop as I would like, so this has given me an excuse to get back out there in it again.
