The connection of family

Recently I took pictures at a benefit fund raiser for Melanoma awareness. I knew some of the band members and I noticed that my friend in the band spoke to this gentleman several times during the day. I became aware that this was his dad.

Some of us are lucky enough to still have our parents with us and others regardless of the lack of physical presence even though they may have passed on...we humans have the ability to visit them even in our memories. Just the mention of the two words "dad"..."mom" often invokes instant emotion.

This summer if your parent or parents are still with you...make sure they know how much they are appreciated.

You are so right Dan! I constantly let my parents know that I love them...I have been very blessed to have a close relationship with them both...they are very aged now and it makes them even more dear to me...

What a beautiful photograph! Who would have thought that a photo from behind could evoke so much emotion. Well, you did, of course.
I love this one!

I love this shot, Dan! Very much. And reminding me of this is important, too. With such a busy boy schedule, it's difficult throughout the school year to connect with my dad, other than on the phone. He's working part time, too, and our schedules don't always mesh together.

But, sweet summer is approaching us. I'm so ready.

Mary,
I am posting this comment a week after it was posted. I had set it up to post a week in advance on this day. Little did I know on the day it posted (last Wednesday) that my own father would pass away. Life has it's own ironies sometimes.
