Chateaux of the Loire

The reason that most visit the Loire Valley in France is to see Les Chateaux.  Keep in mind these were the "quaint" little vacation homes of the nobility during the Renaissance and just before.  The 4th, 5th and 6th images are of Chambord....the largest of the Chateaux.  Believe it or not, this was built because the King of France wanted a weekend hunting lodge!

After seeing this beautiful part of France, it was time to leave the Loire Valley and head for southwest France and the Dordogne Valley.  I had one more unforgettable life experience before we left however.  Through some wonderful people we met while staying in Perusson, I had the honor of of spending the day at the local Elementary School with Madame Gaillard, the head mistress of the school.  I taught the young students English....while they helped me with my French.  To be able to see the school system from the inside was a real treat for me.  I blurred out the children's faces at the request of Madame Gaillard.

Another stunning look round with images to match.
I have one minor criticism.
You were hopefully teaching American..there are massive differences....Poor mites could end up with their clothes on in the wrong order...not a good start to the day.

Ha...Ha....Actually Adrian you are quite correct!! And I evidently do not learn from past mistakes because I was also "corrected" while in
France!!
