Nestled street side among old oaks and tulip poplars is single residence on Main Street. My guess is that the house was built before the town. Many times houses like these were the first families to homestead before the shopkeepers moved in. Usually shaded by the old growth Oaks and poplars, the house fades into the landscape unnoticed. However today while walking down the tree lined alleyway, I noticed that the sun was peeking through the one open area illuminating the old house as if it was proud again to be in the spotlight. I'm sure in it's day, it was the center of activities. A day that has long since past.
