Raised in the landlocked Midwest, I have always cherished time spent near big water. The summer spent exploring Seward was one of those cherished memories. This particular night, the fog had rolled in off the bay and settled on the small fishing village tucking it in for the star filled night to follow. The diffusion of the mist cast a violet sunset tint over all it touched. Standing in the total silence of the moment, the fishing boats done for the day, I envied the locals with their simple lifestyle...knowing that at the end of the summer I was to leave this solitude behind only to relive the experience through the photographs. Each one draws me back to that summer in Seward, Alaska.

Karrie,

By all means let me know if you write in the blog. Responses like yours make my day! I am glad my inconsequential narratives and images add some calm to your day. They work the same for me. When I post, I can take myself out of the mix for a bit and find that bit of solitude i long for.

I'm glad Dan! I really do enjoy reading your blog. Thank you for the comment on Bob Bull! This is so exciting for us! We hope to see the Derby but it will be just as great to see him run anywhere (Derby would be a bonus). He is big, beautiful and strong so we have high hopes for him. I am working with the trainer to get more pics since Bob is in FL and we are in CT! Tell your wife to read to. I am going to try to include information on get a partnership and all sorts of stuff about racing! Enjoy! and thank you!

Cynthia,
This was taken in Alaska and it is so typical of bright colored houses in Seward...great memories from that trip.
