Nature is slowly reclaiming her ground.

Like ivy on an old stone wall, saplings and vines are encroaching on this once stately country home. Gray sky...white snow and once white house made this a great candidate for a black and white version of an otherwise colorless image. It was as if the blood was slowly being drained from the home...just before burial.

I know that feeling...!
Great choice for black-and-white, it looks almost like a pencil drawing.

Great image! I love the way you have described it like a living thing getting ready to lay down and down and cease to be.

You have captured the beauty and sadness of this lovely old house. It would be nice if someone saved it before it's to late.

So many of your photographs make me want to see inside. Maybe it's the photo, maybe it's the words. But it always works!

Oh I think I would love to buy that house and love it back to its glory.

I want to know who's peeking through the curtains on the 2nd and 4th windows, first floor....

Dawn Treader...I used the same technique as you do quite a bit...extreme sharpening to bring out the details.

S Barbie...thanks and that is the feeling I got when I looked at this once glorious house...now dying.

Sunny...this house has been abandoned for awhile and I think folks have given up on it.

Rebecca...I have gathered from some of your past comments that you like this era and even before. It would be great to see it restored to it's past glory.

Cynthia...Yeoww! I had to go back and look and the curtains are pulled back as if someone was looking out...I am positive that the house is abandoned! Thanks for freaking me out!

Bobbi...great to hear from you and I hope the New Year is treating you well. This at least was close to an old barn! I know you love barns!
