It must be Summer

During the past couple of weeks here in the Midwest...there has been a flurry of custom car activity. This is one of the surefire ways to mark July/August...if you have lost your calendar.

It seems that each year the cars get better and better with new colors and special paint jobs...enough chrome to cover a stadium parking lot. What always surprises me is the span of generations seen at these events. Even though the cars are older than most of you reading this blog...the hobbyists and visitors alike range in age from strollers to wheelchairs...from young hipsters to old fogies!

There remains a fascination in this country with automobiles even though Detroit has seen a terrible downturn of late.

Enjoy the remaining days of the Summer and in a week we celebrate the official end of the season...at least by tradition in the U.S.

Dan
